Background

Three years of experience, interviewing for a Java-based engineering role.

Round-by-round

1. Online assessment

Conducted on the AMCAT platform. Clearing it required scoring at least 65%.

2. Technical round 1

Java, Spring Boot and microservices, with a mix of coding tasks and scenario-based questions rather than pure theory.

3. Technical round 2

Same vein, going deeper into SQL and AWS — again combining hands-on coding with practical, scenario-driven questions.

4. Client round

Shifted focus entirely to my previous project experience, with the client wanting a detailed understanding of the work I'd actually done.
